Lifting the front wheel of my mountain bike?

Hi, I tried doing a bunny hop on my mountain bike, but I can Not to raise the front wheel high enough … At most, only the displacement of about 5.8 cm or more above the ground, so I wonder if anyone has advice or instructions to help me? I have a mountain bike with a frame rigid 14''and 26''wheels. And also, I must be in gear low or high? Thanks

As the last guy said, try to push a bit first, and then retire, you will bounce a little more, and not just pulling your arm, must remove the entire body up and back slightly to move the weight upward and backward, if Keep all your weight on the pedals, the bike is kept low and I guess that's what you have to do is keep your weight on the pedals. And you do not need to pass a bunny hop:) Keep practicing, the better the people I've seen that have problems do the same (pulling up your front tire), which crashed a few times and is difficult to compose and obstacles on the road, and I think it's because substance have never played that way. Learn from your front and rear tires, among other things, will make a better mountain bike, so practice! I found this video on youtube .. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0lyxhAGvDI as he says, pulling up and forward to getting behind the wheel well. Here is another video I found. If you look closely you see that growing very slightly down, then we turn the body back, then up. If you do not your body does so, the bike does not have all the pieces that follow you up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Svw82xHXIJU
