portable car lift

what is the best cheap (or custom made) portable audio system?
ok so i’d like to make/buy this portable audio system that can go very loud (without losing too much of quality)
(the ones i found in the store were either to expensive or not powerful enough)
some people said using car battery(s) could be an option. does anyone know how this would work and what i d need (i got the battery and different sets of speakers that might fit the job)
other suggestions are also welcome
P.S. size and weight of any solution don’t really matter, as long as it can be carried in 1 backpack (normal school bag sized) and be lifted by a normal person.
it should be able to play music at high volume for at least 4 hours and be rechargeable over night.
thx
Whoever said to use a car battery is out of their mind. How is lugging around a 40+ pound, explosive sulfuric gas emmitting battery practical? The best way to do what you want is to buy a Dayton Audio DTA-1 Class T amplifier through Parts Express($44.80+s&h). It runs on 8 AA batteries and is 88% efficient. Power rating is 15 wattsx2@10%THD. It has a 3.5mm jack for connecting a portable CD player or MP3. Then find a pair of 4ohm speakers to hook it up to such as a pair of KLH S-Pro4 indoor/outdoor speakers(Radio Shack). The more efficient the speakers you use, the louder it will play. If you plan on carrying all this in a backpack keep in mind that an amplifier produces heat so I suggest a mesh backpack. Check out the amp here:
