In AZ with a motorcylcle from CA not titled in my name. Lady won’t send title or sign over. What can I do?

Ironwork was traded for the Motorcyle. A registration was received by me, with promise of a title later on. The lady is a disfunctional alcoholic who won’t lift a finger to get a duplicate title and have it sent to me. I can’t put the motorcycle on the road in AZ, because it is not properly registered. Help!

One provision of a vehicle transaction between individuals is the obtaining of a “clear” title. You can legally “rescind” this transaction. Because this transaction was a trade for services the lady in question has not performed on her part of the trade, so technically speaking, she has not paid you for the ironwork.

Figure the value of the ironwork you did, and file a small claims case against her. (it can usually be done on line, or by mail. The California limit is $7500.00). At trial the court can either grant you a judgment for your services, or require her to perform her part of the contract, IE: provide the title.
