Should I upgrade to an SSD?

Note: Do not do this for speed reasons, to exclude the answers, please. I can use my laptop work at the university, which is 30 minutes each way every day. In the coming months I hope to have a bike if it is based on lifts and buses to get to college. But I worry about breaking portable mechanical hard drive while driving on the bike (it should be noted that currently take the bus vibrates in my school bag, which goes to ground).
