Starter motorcyle for 16 yr old??
So I only have this summer to work to buy a motorcycle ..
I have only ridden a motorcycle once else where but i am going to take the motorcycle safety course ..
I was going to start in a 2001 Gsx-R600 ..
But i dont have the money to eventually buy a 1000 in less than six months ..
I am 16 yrs old ..I am in extremely good physical shape i work out and lift daily ..
I am just about 5-7 135lbs..
im not as thin as i may sound .. but yeah …
your help is appreciated ..
Because the price difference is so insignificant .. might as well go for the 1000 ..
right ? im for sure not getting anything cheaper ..
So what would you recommend ? .. thanks
Your life expectancy on a 1000cc sport bike will be less than 100 miles. I guarantee it. If you buy a 1000cc sportbike you will become a statistic.
If you buy a 600cc sportbike you will probably still kill yourself but your chances of learning it before you do will be a little bit better. Imagine getting wrist locked (yea whats that?) and not being able to relase the throttle grip, then you get strained through a chainlink fence at 150+ mph, the last thing to go thru your mind is a fence post.
Get a 125cc dirtbike as suggested above and learn to ride it first. Then move up to a bigger dirt bike and learn to ride it extremely well. In 2 or 3 yrs get that 600cc sportbike and drag a knee on a race track.
The object son is to leave a mark on the world of motorcycling and not a STAIN.
I have over 30yrs as a rider and racer of motocross, offroad and sportbikes, I’ve seen lots of accidents and deaths. I have also broken an arm, a leg, 3 collar bones and 8 ribs in various racing accidents. I have never crashed on the street!!!
];-)
good luck
