Is this type of car jack is not used?

When I was younger I saw on TV a new way to raise the car while crossing a puncture. It was not mechanical. What had been a tube in some way connected to the exhaust pipe, which leads to a thick, heavy bag / balloon is placed under the car dooe. Running the engine and air forces / fumes from the bag and lifted the car in the same way as a car jack. Then change the wheel! These methods are used for everything in the automotive world. Or was it just wishful thinking? Answers appreciated. Thanks
