is it best to store a motorcyle on or off a motorcycle lift?
someone told me not to take the weight off the shocks because when you buy them they are already compressed
It is never necessary to take the weight off the shocks/forks. It is desirable to take the tires off the ground. I would always suggest storing the bike on front and rear stands if possible. Take the battery out or wire it to a trickle charger.
There is a good video relating to stands and such at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8E6DEmmyLgs relating to cruiser stands, and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgLX4W_xXy4 for rearstands for dual swingarm bikes.
